Graysville Student Programs

The following programs are available to students who qualify, with the exception of Title I, which benefits all Graysville students. 

Special Education
Special Education is to ensure that all students with disabilities have available to them a free and appropriate public education in the least restrictive environment that emphasizes the general curriculum as well as special education services and prepares them for employment and independent living. Special Education and related services will be designated as needed and appropriate to meet the unique needs of a student with disabilities. The Catoosa County School System believes very strongly that all children can learn. To the greatest extent possible, students with disabilities are served in the least restrictive environment (LEA), this being alongside their regular education peers.

EIP (Early Intervention Program)
The Early Intervention Program (EIP) is designed to serve students who are at risk of not reaching or maintaining academic grade level. The purpose of the Early Intervention Program is to provide additional instructional resources to help students who are performing below grade level obtain the necessary academic skills to reach grade level performance in the shortest possible time.

ESOL (English to Speakers of Other Language)
English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) is a state-funded instructional program for eligible students in grades K-12. The ESOL program emphasizes both academic and social language development. ESOL coursework is based upon the WIDA Consortium English Language Development standards. Classroom teachers integrate these ELD standards with the Georgia Performance Standards to enable English Learners to both communicate in English and demonstrate their academic proficiency.

Gifted Education (Quest program, formerly Horizon)
In Georgia, a gifted education student is defined as one who demonstrates a high degree of intellectual and/or creative ability(ies), exhibits an exceptionally high degree of motivation, and/or excels in specific academic fields, and who needs special instruction and/or special ancillary services to achieve at levels corresponding with his or her ability(ies). Catoosa County Schools serves gifted students through the Horizon Program, which includes grades K-12.

Title I
Title I is part of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) that provides financial assistance to state and local education agencies to meet the needs of at-risk children. The goal of Title I is to provide instructional services and activities which support students in meeting the state’s challenging performance standards.
