Wild About Reading Family Literacy Night!
What an wonderful Wild About Reading Family Literacy Night we had! I would like to thank everyone who braved the cold weather to attend the event. Our five different activity stations were a huge hit and everyone had a fun night with their families. I loved walking around the cafeteria and seeing all of the bookmarks being made and families reading some of the books we had available. Our storyteller, Ms. Kaye Rose did a fantastic job with the three stories she told and both children and parents alike enjoyed them immensely. Mrs. Sandy Stephenson was here with her book she wrote about the animals at the Chattanooga Zoo titled Who Am I?, and everyone enjoyed hearing from her about the process of writing a book and how fun it can be! We also had a very educational presentation from Mr. Bill with the Tennessee Aquarium and some kids got to pet and even hold a snake! All in all it was a great evening and I hope everyone who attended had fun just being able to spend time together as a family.
Also, thank you to all of the teachers who helped pull this night together! Your enthusiasm is what makes events like these successful. :-)
