  Mrs. Nayadley's Newsletter May 21, 2018

it is hard to believe this is the last newsletter of second grade.  This year has gone by so fast.  Students have worked hard and learned a lot.  I want to thank each one of you again for sharing your child with me this year.  It has been such a blessing to have your child in my class. It is parents like you that make GES the best!

Websites: Over teh summer, your child may work on Reading Eggs (reading) and Prodigy and IXL (math).  If you google "reading eggs," this website should come up.  Your child knows his/her username and password.  This is a great, fun reading website that the students enjoy.  There is a game part to it as well, so you do have to monitor what they are doing.  However, I would recommend that if they work hard for 7 or 8 minutes, then what a great reward to play the games on that website.  The lesson part of Reading Eggs can become quite challenging.  This would be a great tool to use over the summer for your child to continue to read.

End of Year Party: Our end of the year party will follow our Renaissance ceremony on Wednesday.  Our Renaissance ceremony will be at 8:15, followed by our end of the year party.  We would love all parents to join us, as we celebrate a great year!

Last Day of School: We will be finished with all of our end of the year activities on Thursday.  No required activities will occur on Friday, May 25.  If you owe any charges from the school year, please take care of that ASAP!

Important Dates:

May 23: Renaissance ceremony at 8:15/ class party following ceremony

May 24: Lake Winnie field trip to all students who qualify for Renaissance for the fourth nine weeks.
